There is clarity in YCP on Tirupati Parliament. After changing the sitting MP back and forth, YCP finally fixed Tirupati as its candidate. But there is a patchwork of alliances over rival competition. It is unclear which party will contest. The opposition is in doubt as to which party will come together for the alliance. Tirupati is SC reserved parliamentary constituency. It is an important constituency for all parties. However, in the matter of Tirupati MP ticket allotment and competition, the oscillation of candidates continued between the ruling YCP and the opposition parties. The YCP high command has finally given a clarity after changing the positions of Tirupati and Chittoor MPs. Both have been given an opportunity to compete in the same position. As a result, the sitting MP Gurumurthy got a chance as the YCP candidate for Tirupati Parliament. Even if there is no confusion in the ruling party, there is still confusion about who is the opposition candidate. TDP is struggling in Tirupati Parliament. TDP, which has already joined forces with Jana Sena, is expected to join hands with BJP as part of the alliance, and it is expected that there will be a chance to get clarity on which party should contest and who should be in the ring. Former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi, who contested as a TDP candidate from Tirupati Parliament in the last election and lost, is in the contest.
And the name of former Karnataka CS Ratnaprabha family who contested as BJP candidate in Tirupati by-election is being heard strongly. Ratnaprabha’s daughter Niharikanane is campaigning for TDP Tirupati MP candidate. However, the campaign is going on at the same level as to whether Niharika will contest as a TDP candidate… or if the ticket is allotted to any party, that party will wear a scarf and contest. As the matter of alliance is not clear till now, the suspense cadre is racking their brains as to who will be the Tirupati MP candidate from the opposition. There is some confusion in all these three parties TDP Janasena BJP. A situation has arisen where all the parties are wrestling to capture the most prestigious SC reserved constituency. Previously Tirupati was allotted to TDP and BJP. At that time, retired IAS officer Venkataswamy won as BJP MP. That is why there is a possibility that BJP wants Tirupati back. If an alliance is formed, if such a situation arises, there is a big discussion that Niharika, the daughter of former Karnataka CS Ratnaprabha, who entered the ring as a BJP candidate in the last minute in the last Tirupati Parliament by-election, may cover herself with a saffron scarf. There is a rumor going around that Niharika, the daughter-in-law of Chittoor district, is likely to be the BJP candidate instead of Ratnaprabha.
Niharika, who is the wife of former MP Talari Manohar’s second son, has ties to the TDP family. Niharika’s uncle Talari Manohar worked as MP and brother-in-law Talari Aditya Satyavedu as TDP MLA. There is an opinion in the cadre that she will have a chance as a daughter-in-law from this political family. In 2009, Talari Manohar joined the Praja Rajyam Party and contested as the Chittoor MP on behalf of that party and lost, but Manohar’s family again joined the TDP and managed to get their eldest son, Talari Aditya, to win as Satyavedu MLA from TDP in 2014. As the daughter-in-law of former MP Talari Manohar’s family, Niharika will contest on behalf of TDP…or will she become BJP candidate as part of the alliance? But former Union Minister Panabaka Lakshmi, who is confident that he will be the TDP candidate for Tirupati Parliament, is unhappy with the new arrangements. It seems that the TDP leadership is leaning towards Niharika, who wants to send Panabaka Lakshmi to Sullurpet SC reserved assembly seat.
